Hariharan (A) Saravanan, Madasamy, Praveen, Junath Ahmed and 4 school students were arrested on March 21 in connection with the Virudhunagar teen gang rape case. 4 of them were kept in a care home because they were minors. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Stalin issued an order transferring the sex case to the CPCIT. Following this, Hariharan (A) Saravanan, Madasamy, Praveen and Junath Ahmed were taken into custody by the CPCIT police for 7 days and interrogated. They were taken to places including the medical coupon where the rape took place and interrogated. Following this, the investigation was completed on the 4 students who were staying at the Madurai Kurnokku home.
Meanwhile, the judge also extended the custody of Hariharan, Praveen, Junath Ahmed and Madasamy till April 18. Following this, 4 persons were imprisoned in Madurai. Four minors arrested in a case of sexual abuse of a young girl on the Virudhunagar list have been granted bail. Juvenile Justice Judge Maruthupandian has granted bail to the four juveniles. Meanwhile, 8 persons arrested in the case yesterday were brought for a medical examination.
