Apr. 4 Start of direct hearing in the Supreme Court

Chief Justice NV Ramana has announced that direct hearings will be held in the Supreme Court from April 4 as corona restrictions have been completely relaxed. The Supreme Court hearings have been held by video since March 2020 due to the spread of the corona infection. In October last year, only the cases listed on Wednesday and Thursday were investigated as the spread of the infection was low. Live hearings on Mondays and Fridays, as well as cases or other cases listed on Tuesday, were heard by video.

The first videotaped investigation into the spread of the Omigron infection began on January 7. Due to the low prevalence of the disease, only two days (Monday and Friday) of the first week of February 14 have been marked by live trials.

In a statement issued today, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court NV Ramana said, "From Monday, April 4, all cases in the Supreme Court will be heard directly. While the live trial was held only 2 days a week, the direct trial is now scheduled to take place 5 days a week. The Chief Justice said that the corona precautionary measures already in place will be followed.
